Keeping it Suave with MORGAN.M – July 2017
With summer in full swing now and the weather proving us with nice long sunny evenings this month we have been listening to The Amazons, a four piece indie rock band from Reading who have burst onto the scene. With their self titled debut album released at the end of May they have been hitting the festival scene all across Europe which sets to continue through the summer. Glastonbury Festival was one such show that a few of the Morgan.M team were able to see and we can safely say it was a fantastic performance.
From hard hitting guitar riffs in songs like ‘In My Mind’ and ‘Black Magic’ to softer melodies in ‘Junk Food Forever’ and ‘Ultraviolet’ its a superb album from start to finish. With the additional feature of a few acoustic songs at the end that covers all bases for a modern album. They are definitely a band for the future that we can only see going on to great things in years to come.
With the start of July we also welcome one of the greatest sporting events in the world the Wimbledon Championship, as ever it promises to be a special one with Andy Murray defending the title in what could be his third Wimbledon Grand Slam.
As official outfitter of the championship Ralph Lauren have released their Wimbledon range and have selected the Slim Fit Oxford Shirt in blue and Wimbledon Judge Pant. Following a very summery vibe and the ultimate in smart casual wear this outfit can be picked up for £354 direct from Ralph Lauren.
The Morgan.M team have dined at Dishoom several times of the last couple years and each time it seems to provide better and better service & food. As a result, it really is time we shouted about it a little more, with London city centre locations in both Kings Cross and Shoreditch it is the ultimate in Indian dining with the best flavours and spices.
You can’t book a table in advance so we advise going at unconventional times such as 4pm at the weekend or early afternoon midweek if you don’t want to wait. If you don’t mind waiting the bar area is always great to try a few cocktails. When it comes to eating, Vada Pau is an essential, described as the Indian version of a chip butty it’s the perfect blend of spice, fried potatoes in a bread roll.
We not going to tell you what to have for main as there’s so many great choices but we do recommend the lamb shank chefs special or tandoori chicken with the black daal. To summarise though it’s a fantastic experience with lots of well informed & friendly staff, yes, the queue is annoying at times but it adds to the exclusivity of the venue. When you do dine its fantastic with lots to offer and ever their own brewed beer to try.
Its summer, its sunny, it can only mean one drink now of year, that’s cider. Recently a few of the team tried the Brothers Cider range which now includes Coconut and Lime, at 7% It’s pretty strong but full of mouth-watering flavour giving a real lying on a Caribbean beach feel.
Brothers added a few new flavours back in 2015 to mark 20 years in the making including Strawberry to add to the classic flavours Pear and Apple. For us it has hit the spot, it can be picked up in all major supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
It’s the time for travelling, summer is here and for once we look like we could have a good year for sun. Therefore, there is only one way to travel and that is in style, something achievable with The Xalvador, It boasts of a unique four point folded opening, complete with a secure zip and two brass buckles. A spacious main compartment allows transportation of personal belongings and the four point folded opening means that access to items at the top of the bag is as easy as the bottom, saving time and minimising the risk of creased clothing.
The Xalvador is available in tan leather with cream interior or black leather. It can be carried via the two leather handles finished off with a buttoned clasp alternatively the extendable, detachable woven shoulder strap.
